
A few years ago, Alvida started making its services more sustainable, so that we provide the events and parties for our customers in an environmentally conscious way with the climate as a starting point. We would like to take you through the steps we have taken.
We use the paperless office principle. Almost all internal and external documentation is sent digitally as much as possible. This includes contracts, quotes, invoices and other means of communication. All documents are stored on encrypted hard drives, which also ensures the security of our customers' data. These hard drives are encrypted and are stored in various safes.
Both at our location and at our customers' location, we only use LED lighting and energy-efficient equipment. This applies to, among other things, the lighting, the ambient lighting, the colored LED spots and the bar lighting. All our cranes have a water-saving aerator. This means that we saved 40% and 50% on water use in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
In recent years, transport reduction has helped us to go back to half of our fleet. By focusing efficiently on transport and the use of energy-efficient cars, we are contributing a very big step in reducing CO2 emissions.
Waste prevention, and in particular combating food waste. Using energy efficiently and creating recyclable packaging often result in less waste. The waste generated in our production is separated and processed daily so that 98% of our waste can be recycled.
Our products are produced by sustainable cultivation, so that no or less damage is caused to biodiversity, ecosystems, water and climate. Better for the environment, so better for you, that's why we work with fresh, local and seasonal ingredients.
Last but not least, an honest presentation. During an event, buffet, barbecue or food market, the presentation is of course just as important as the points mentioned above. We make extensive use of recycled products in the presentation of our dishes. This includes the well-known wooden crates, beautiful and responsible decorative items that we maintain in-house so that they can be used again at any event. You will also find our famous spice crates at all our buffets, food markets and barbecue events so that your guests cut the herbs themselves, it couldn't be fresher! In addition, where possible, we work with biodegradable disposables and the materials we use are purchased completely sustainably.

For our drink in Amsterdam, I was looking for a
total concept, including both catering and decoration, also because we were quite late in starting the organization of this event. On the Alvida website, I found exactly what I was looking for.
Because the space where the drinks had to be organized
be had quite a few restrictions, Roy thought along with us during an appointment on location. A lot of atmosphere had to be created and that was completely done as desired.
Despite the fact that the turnout was much higher than we had budgeted,
Roy and his team were very flexible and extra drinks and snacks could be supplied while maintaining the quality completely the same.

We really enjoyed our party and that is certainly also thanks to the efforts of Alvida, who provided a surprising and very complete interpretation of the term 'catering' with their complete and original Food Market.
From the first contact, the approach was personal, thoughtful and thoughtful. Right down to the pre-tasting of the different wines. On the day itself, no effort was too much either; the people at Alvida were present in a pleasant and attentive way. That was also much appreciated by our guests, who are still talking about it!
